Absolutely, you should include your experiences at Susquehanna and PIMCO on your CV, even if they aren't directly related to M&A. Based on the most helpful WSO content, having strong names like Susquehanna and PIMCO on your resume can significantly enhance your profile. These experiences demonstrate that you’ve successfully navigated competitive interview processes and gained exposure to high-caliber financial environments, which is highly valued in M&A recruiting.
Here’s why it’s beneficial: 1. Prestige and Credibility: Recognizable names like Susquehanna and PIMCO signal to recruiters that you’ve worked in rigorous, professional settings. 2. Transferable Skills: Even if the roles weren’t directly related to M&A, you likely developed analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that are applicable across finance roles. 3. Storytelling in Interviews: These experiences can help you craft a compelling narrative about your interest in finance, your ability to adapt, and how your diverse background makes you a stronger candidate for M&A.
Just ensure that when you list these experiences, you focus on the transferable skills and accomplishments that align with M&A. For example, highlight any financial modeling, market analysis, or teamwork you were involved in.

Yes, absolutely you should. Those are big brand names and will help no matter where you’re applying. Obviously it would be better if they were M&A-related; but you’d be stupid not to include them at all.
You’re a student, and at the end of the day firms expect students to try out different fields in their internships than where they might end up full time. Just having those brands on your resume at all is a huge vote of confidence.
