S&T Algo Trading Comp and Exit Opportunities

Hello! I am a London uni STEM graduate with an offer to join as a Quant in the Algo Trading division of a European BB (think DB, CS, BNP).

Firstly, if anyone has any insight on the job security and compensation trajectory in such a role, it would be greatly appreciated.

Secondly, I was wondering what are the exit opportunities after 1-2 years from this, in case I discover that it is not the right fit for me. Particularly, how likely are the following: Trading at a Bank, Trading at a Prop Shop, Trading at a HF, and Quant Research at a Quant HF or big AM?

As I also have an interest in fundamental investing, I was wondering if it would ever be possible transition back into a fundamental role, say in equity research or asset management. Currently I have the choice between this and an investment analyst role at a fundamental boutique AM and I am struggling to decide. Thanks a lot!
