S&T Location Changes

I am about half way through with my BB S&T internship in Houston in the energy trading group. So far it has been a good experience but I feel like Equity or FI trading would be more interesting to me. I also come from a strong accounting background so I feel like this may serve me better if I were analyzing companies rather than commodities.

How should I approach HR about doing FT S&T in NY in either the FI or equity groups without losing an offer with the company all together? Also, is this move even possible in the current environment?
