Switching firms during an analyst program

I was curious to know how easy it is to switch firms during an analyst program in S&T or for that matter any front office position? Like for example, graduating from undergrad and then working at a top 5 BB for one year, and then switching to another top 5 BB during the second year of my analyst program?...Or perhaps switching after the second year....thus being hired as a third year analyst. Is commonly done, can it be done (meaning can I make a lateral move with out having to start again as "first year analyst"???).....I ask this because you only hear about lateral moves in the associate and beyond titles?
