Switching from S&T to IB

Hey guys.

I'm from a non-target school majoring in engineering so getting an internship in IB has been very hard. I'm graduating in 2026 and secured a summer internship for S&T at SocGen. I couldn't get anything else and all my hopes are now on switching to IB once I'm there but I don't know how this is possible. I'm also aware that SocGen is pretty shitty and I'm hoping to move to another shop to do IB. What do you think? Is it common to switch?
