any success stories of young traders making both swaps?
not that i know of, except in closely related products....
i mean what sort of change are you talking about? like fx structuring to vanilla rate sales? or corp bond trading to fx structuring?
the second is not going to happen. the first might....the question is why the firm wouldn't look to hire people with relevant experience....they have no incentive to take someone from the outside with a different skillset, except in the very rare case where a product is very young.
wat about fx to precious metal? i heard those trade similarly and you can't move from corp bonds to fx because it's completely different or because it is "harder"
