number of ppl on my desk, albeit a more quantitative one, had mfes-- why mba over mfe? Will leave it to more experienced folk to offer more input
Would rather have a Quantitative M.S. or MFE from any school than an M7 MBA on our team, also shows in the people we interview. Although we are prop and not S&T so will let others chime in.
Could you rank a few of those Ms you are referring to?
Think OP would be more qualified to post a ranking as they may be applying currently. I don't really look at an MBA for trading as having higher value than any sort of quantitative undergrad degree and I think overall our team would prefer to see a quantitative masters.
Not a ton of MBA specific Snt internships/job postings to be honest. I think only BAML/MS have MBA specific SNT programs and all the other programs are more targeted towards undergraduates and other MS programs. Some masters programs allow you to join the firm as an associate but are much more quant.
Agree, I am at HSW and have only seen posts for MS S&T for MBA. Whatever you do, don’t tell the MBA program you want S&T in your application.
