Trader - Career Advice

Interested in becoming a trader. Took a futures class, traded agriculture futures and really enjoyed it.

I already graduated with degree in finance and worked for large insurance co (that begins with A and if you shorted the stock, prob made a shit ton of money) I built book of business from $400k to $18M over four years. Have great sales and marketing skills but need to figure the best way to approach legit trading houses given my background.

The problem is 1. I didn't go to an Ivy (wasn't planning on majoring in finance) 2. Don't have anyone in my network who is a trader

.....so is getting into a top 10 MBA the best route?
