Shitty quants suck at math
The ones who make models that take longer to analyze than the market. A half-assed model/strategy that works now is better than that super detailed amazing model that probably will be done/working well after the market has already moved.
Quants suck, period. No offense. I am a maths major for undergrad and grad. Reasons I am doing it, 1) so no quant (trader) can bullshit (fuck) me 2) exploit the inefficiency created by quantitative models like BS model.
That's a pretty shitty reason to do a math graduate degree for. How do you like wasting your time/money like that?
Most of people are not excited to do proofs, and that's how you spent 80 of your time, reaingd and doing proofs. And it takes a lot of time away from u. Is it a waste of money and time? Too early to call... I think my reasons are sufficient for now.
I am interested in this as well.
