Trading Track Record

I have a question regarding movements between bank trading desks, hedge funds and prop shops. Track record seems to be very relevant. However what are the minimum requirements for a track record to be taken seriously.

How many years do you have to trade to get a legit track record? At what performance levels would one be taken seriously? Does the name of the previous place matter? Does the size of the book matter significantly?

This is in the context of stat arb (equities pair trading).

Thanks
