Trading training period leading to FT

I recently received an offer for a FT role doing quant dev and trading with a prop market maker (coming straight out of engineering grad school). The pay is reasonable and on the whole this is a very attractive position that would allow me to explore a lot of different roles within the quant and trading space. My main concern is that I was told that there would be a 3-month training period leading to full-time offers afterwards, and I want to make sure I have a full time role once I graduate. Does anyone have insight for how typical this situation is in industry, and how many people that go through training are typically converted to FT? Are there any particular questions I should be asking them?
