Are there any banks allowing traders to work from home? Or it is just impossible due to the nature of the job.

Can't speak for spec traders but for certain physical traders it's possible. There was a Glencore oil trader based out of SF, despite Glencore not having an office there.
No way Glencore let's people WFH. They are pretty old school
It must be a special arrangement . Glencores oil trading hub is London so I suspect that trader expensed a paid office
