Upcoming Jnr Oil Trader Interview

I have an upcoming interview for a Junior Fuel Trading position. To be honest I am quite surprised to be selected, as I don't have any experience in the oil industry and not sure what questions to be prepared for.

Could someone help shed some light on what questions I could expect? And what I should focus on?

Thanks.

Thank you.

I have a degree in global marketing, and 3 years exp in logistics scheduling and international trade compliance for a non trading global firm. The role was available through an online job board, and I applied for it even though it stated oil trading related experience was essential. I thought what the heck? It was either a 50/50 yes or no if they would call me anyway.

I would think that your logistics scheduling experience probably got some attention. Junior physical commod traders, especially in oil & gas, to my knowledge, deal with logistics and operations. If you were good with these tasks and able to pick'em up quickly, your skillset are transferable.

Oil 101 is a good book to start. Follow oil and gas fundamentals and research to understand the product you are supposed to trade. If you don't have much experience in oil and gas, the expectation they have on you prolly won't be that high.
