West Coast Institutional Sales

Hey Guys,

Is there anyone on here that could provide some general insight on the following topics relating to Institutional Sales on the west coast?

- Typical hours
- Sectors of sales that are most prevalent
- Typical client outings
- Compensation
- Quality of life to work balance

Again, if anyone could touch on any of these topics or provide some general insight on your position it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Paul

My brother works on the West coast in Inst. Sales, in the office at 5, home around 1-3. Life>work. I don't know the exact $ but he is very comfortable. Not sure of anything else, but I can ask him for you.

Echo this. A good family friend growing up does rates sales at a large MM in SF. He lives in the suburbs and wakes up at 330 on weekdays, leaves around 430 for the city. Leaves the office everyday around 215. He was also my basketball coach for a couple of years and never missed a practice or game. Great family man. He's an MD, so naturally his compensation is quite high.
