What are the available roles?
As a recent graduate, what are options out there if I want to be a trader? It seems to me that there's sell-side trading and then buy-side/prop shop (maybe HF too).
An issue I'm having is that the options seem rather limited. With IB you can work at a BB but there's many boutiques and they all do similar-ish things (but different scale etc.). Whereas in trading the BB is sell-side and then the rest are buy-side and they're all rather different.
With BB FT being very structured, my only "back up" seems to be prop shops and similar places. But, what you learn and do is very different and from many I've heard that it really pigeonholes you. Thoughts?
