What happens if you get the job and end up sucking?

I'm looking at a number of prop trading jobs right now and I'm worried about the possibility that if I take one I'm gonna be a shitty trader. So lets say that I get canned after the first 6 months/ 1 year. Then what? Is no one going to hire you? never work again in trading? Does anyone know anyone who this has happened to and what they've ended up doing afterwards?

Congrats if you have an offer. Most shops will make you sign a non-compete clause which means you can't trade within a competing shop for (I think) 2 years. I'm in a similar position so if anyone else could offer some insight that'd be great.

My plan is to move continents and try again. Yeah.

Just Do It

A few traders ended up getting canned/asked to leave a year ago after getting their bonuses. All had six months quarantine (enforced) before joining other firms. Most took it as an unpaid vacation and a possibility to trade on their own.

Lesson: Always have a 'Fuck you'-fund ready.
