What is your favorite place to chill in NYC? #TrainingSeason

Hope everyone had a great easter, and spent nice moments with family and friends!
To give you some context, I'm an incoming analyst, starting in a few months, with the usual training phase, and it's going to be in NYC (I think you already know where this conversation is heading now). Was talking to other friends hitting the desks soon as well and we have 2 main questions for you guys out there:
-most important one: What are your favorite spots in NYC to chill? from a tourist point of view.. I'm talking rooftop bars, nightclubs, fancy restaurants, nice spots in Central Park, idk, anything really
-2nd question: what would a "good budget" be (per week) for a nice time in all the places above ^ ?

Refinery Rooftop on 38th and 6th is a favorite of mine. The nice cocktails will run you $16, well drinks $12, beers between $7 and $10. They also have hors d'oeuvres. Not really a dinner place.

Refinery's got a real nice rooftop. If you're looking for something more casual/smaller, Vu rooftop bar is also decent - honestly a lot of the midtown hotels will have good roof bars open to the public.
If you were more baller than an analyst, you could go kick it at PHD Dream - they have a few floors of sick bars way at the top.
Yea but I personally hate the 'baller' crowd at PhD. To me it's just a bunch of bridge and tunnel dudes pretending to be ballers spending money that shouldn't and euro-trash tourists who somehow have shit tons of money.

True... I was at Central Park where the horse carriages are lined up... I bought 3 ice cream cones for my son, wife and myself and it was $12 bucks each! It was ridiculous.
Press Lounge on 11th Ave. Head over right after you get off training - no cover and you'll see the sunset.

Okay, here's off the top of my head:
Employees only - go here if you want a serious cocktail. I've heard Raine's Law Room is good too.
Little Branch - super intimate grotto/dimly lit feel, with again, bonified cocktails. I think Little Branch is a little overrated, but if you take a date there she'll think you're a swanky dude.
Ocean Prime - steakhouse on 52nd and 6th, which would be mostly unremarkable compared to other decent quality steakhouses, however they have a drink called "Berries and Bubbles" that will knock the socks off any instagramming chick you know. She'll again, immediately think you're swanky if you take her there and order her that.
Beautique - they have a ridiculous back room, if you can get in, which you probably cannot. PHD Dream as well.
The comedy clubs in the village are cool, if you're into that sort of thing (which I'm not, particularly), because they'll do amateur hour stuff and then randomly big leage guys like Louis C.K. or Aziz Ansari will just drop by unannounced and do a midnight set for shits and giggles. That hood is also where the NYU kids party, if you're trying to swing your BSD around.
I would recommend going to LES to scope out the scene - thinking Pianos, Hotel Chantelle, etc. They're fun, but again, kind of overrated. Chantelle has a wild rooftop though, and themed dance rooms if you're into that.
Theres a lot of bars on boats that are moored on piers along the west side of manhattan - check it out.
Dead Rabbit in FiDi was named the best bar in America a few years back. Honestly, I went to their first floor last year and was really underwhelmed by everything - strikingly average. But I hear its the upstairs private rooms that the buzz is all about, so maybe check those out if you have the chance.
Stone street in FiDI is fun for the summer - cobblestone alley that's basically become an open air beer garden/bar food mashup. Definitely a fun place to go drinking if you're in that neck of the woods and the weather is nice.
Hoodlum Shit
The piers along the west side can be climbed over and you can sit on these wooden beams with your legs swinging over the water. Buy yourself an expensive bottle of vino and take your tinder date there to look like a guy that appreciates the finer things, but doesn't take himself too seriously. Guarantee she'll be impressed.
If you're into something adventurous and thrill seeking - you used to be able to get into Freedom Tunnel through any number of holes in the fences/walls. A lot of those have been plugged up now and I hear that homeland security has been patrolling it in recent years, but if you can manage to get down there (and if they haven't cleaned it up) there's a lot of really iconic graffiti from the 80s down there. Just don't go alone and get roughed up by a bunch of dust heads.
Don't go to Central Park at night. I know it's not Central Park jogger times anymore, but believe me that I have it on good authority that Central Park night crimes are where NYC prosecutors are channeling a lot of their energy in recent years.
EDIT: To be clear, I'm not advising anyone here to do anything illegal...just pointing out some lesser known experiences out there.

The Boathouse restaurant in Central Park has a cool bar outside on the pond.
That I have to check out... I was planning on it. Definitely a place to check out on a cozy summer night.
Standard Biergarten (Standard Hotel on 13th and 10th). Great german beers and has pretty good vibes
Speaking of the Standard, definitely try Top of the Standard as well as Le Bain. Anyone can go to Top of the Standard before 9pm (after it's guestlist only). If you go early (before 11) and don't have too many people with you, you can pretty easily get into Le Bain as well.
Some of my favorite places in NY were actually some of the more touristy.
That's all I can come up with off the top of my head and I'm sure I'm missing something. I've lived in NY for a few years and tried to hit up all the "better" touristy things when family came to visit.
