Total noob here. Here's 2 hypothetical scenarios:
1) You take on the next Silicon Valley Bank as a client. You look at their holdings and advise them to engage in interest rate swaps.
2) You suggest specific weather derivatives for an energy company, to hedge against extreme weather.
In real life, who does this kind of work? What firms and what teams advise companies on how to restructure their holdings, or engage in a trade to manage risk or increase profitability?
