When networking hoping to get IBD SA position, do I network with everyone say anyone from M&A to S&T or do I focus on whichever division im most interested in?

Everyone does NOT start as a generic intern (i.e. you would start as an IBD intern, or S&T intern, or Operations intern, etc.)
Only network with individuals already working in your desired division - these are totally different career paths.
Could I network with both say Sales and Trading and Mergers and Acquisitions?
Brother do some more reading these are wildly different jobs and both aren’t IBD
I know, M&A is tho, also both would be beneficial pathways for me
