Which S&T desks @ banks (such as Goldman, etc) are hiring right now?

I was told it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a trading job anywhere anymore at the BB's. But what if it wasn't? And what if someone had a contact at one of the banks? Which desks are actually hiring and what are they looking for now opposed to pre-2008?
