Written brain teasers?
I was wondering if during the interviews, the interviewers read the brainteaser questions from a sheet and let you read it also or is it all verbal? Has anyone had long and involved questions that you just jotted down and asked if you have the details correct?
it's usually all verbal and they may or may not let you use paper to solve it. if it's simply youre better off responding verbally, but yeah if it's a complicated question with a complicated solution you should jot notes
Two ropes burn in exactly 1 hour, non uniformly. How do you measure 45 minutes?
You have to include the lighter in the question
I think you can infer that there are matches or a lighter, considering that I mentioned burning.
Each rope burns for an hour individually or in total one hour where burn time for each is random (ie 1 min and 59 min)?
Each rope burns for 1 hour exactly.
Set fire to first rope at one end.
Set fire to the second rope at BOTH ends.
When the second rope has fully burnt out.....
....set fire to the unlit end of the first rope.
When the first rope has fully burnt out - 45 mins will have elapsed.
