Can I go into VC out of college?
Asking because I understand that all the megafunds hire people with IB/PE experience or were successful entrepreneurs, but would it be possible to find a decent VC internship in a big city coming from a non-target? I'm currently a sophomore interning at a VC in a tier 3 city if that helps.
Harder now given the market but it is possible. But, I would caution against this goal. Junior roles in VC rarely are partner track, and involve a lot of cold calling (not super analytical). Also, it’s harder to go downstream (to PE) than transition into VC.
If you want to do VC, I recommend you start in tech banking or get experience working at early stage startups.
Don't. I've posted on this before but doing VC right out of college is an awful way to develop skills and has the worst optionality out of many jobs you can get.
Terrible idea. The people who tend to do this are 'prestige chasers' who want to be in VC but haven't thought long-term about their career.

How would you view starting out of undergrad at an early-stage strong vc (one with successful exits and very strong, well-known seniors) vs BB IB.
