Corporate Venture Capital straight out of undergrad
Say someone does 2 years of Corporate Venture Capital. What are the best moves to make following? Should that person try to break into a traditional VC fund or even a PE firm? What if the person stays at the Corporate position for 4 years and then goes to a M7? Basically what kind of career can someone have with Corporate Venture Capital straight out of undergrad?
I've just done the CVC -> VC move. Wasn't easy. All the options you mentioned above are feasible, just takes time, luck, hustle and no small amount of skill. Good luck!
Thanks for the reply. Would you say your previous work in CVS helped you to get a VC position? Were your skills very transferable or did you need to learn some skills on the side?
Yes, but I'd say my experience was more of an outlier.
