Defense Tech / Industrial Tech VC Funds
Hey all - currently first year IB analyst focusing on industrials, with a specific specialization in Aerospace & Defense and Industrial Tech. I know most of the VC space is still more focused on the software side, but are there any VC funds like 8VC more focused on the hardware side and defense tech?
Founders Fund, a16z, BAM Elevate (later stage), 8VC, Valor Equity, General Catalyst, Shield Capital, Lux Capital
Some of the defense primes have venture arms as well and frequently participate (Lockheed Martin Ventures, Boeing HorizonX, General Dynamics ventures)
The CIA also has a venture arm, In-Q-Tel
Are those VC arms of defense primes just for technological collaboration / contract bidding partnership purposes, or do they actually care about financial returns?
