Harvard + MBB to Venture out of Undergrad - Advice?

Hi! I'm a sophomore at Harvard and will be interning in MBB my sophomore summer. I'm very interested in venture (mostly series A/B). I missed the VC/GE recruiting cycle for summer 2026 but would like to begin my career in VC/GE out of undergrad.

I was wondering if it was a feasible idea to email partners at venture firms asking for opportunities - whether it be sourcing, evaluating investments, industry research, etc to potentially convert that into a 2026 internship. I understand that venture out of undergrad can be limiting but I don't mind sourcing and am quite set on venture as a career.

Also, I don't mean to sound entitled but I a woman if it is relevant in case there are female-specific opportunities or fellowships at any funds. I also don't have a technical background. I would really appreciate any help!

Venture is kind of cringe now ngl and is likely going to enter into a protracted downturn when the AI bubble bursts. You're better off starting a company, this is the only way to get into actual high value VC positions at this point.
