How many investments are you making annually?

I'm an early-stage investor focusing on emerging tech. We have a pretty straightforward process of conducting DD, writing up a memo, and presenting the company to the IC.

The latest hype has been AI and, not surprisingly, our Managing Partners have been more than happy to approve AI deals coming down the pipeline. Compared to some of the investments I made last year, the approvals have been much easier, with less pushback unless there's zero alignment with our thesis.

Some of my team members are taking advantage of this and presenting a ton of ideas. I've been a bit more hesitant, as I'm going for quality over quantity. Year-to-date, I've invested in two companies that ended up getting a decent amount of attention due to Tier-1 VCs coming in after us.

My ultimate goal is to make 3 more investments by the end of the year for a total of 5.

I'm curious to see how many investments people are making as an Associate or a Principal.
