IB -> Startup -> ?

Hey y'all,

I was an analyst at a top banking group (GS/MS) and decided to leave after 1 year for a BizOps role at a later stage startup.  I have been at this startup for a bit now and I was wondering what my options are for exits, especially if I want to get back into the investing realm.

Would I be able to recruit for Growth roles as easily as I could have while still in banking? How about VC does my ops experience give me a leg up?

Ultimately I would love to be in crossover, so have I ruled myself out of public markets seats?

Gracias!

Seems like an uphill battle to switch so early. What skills have you gotten at the startup that’ll make you a better investor? If anything it would take at least 2 years to see full operational development and then you’d be more poised for Ops teams at PE firms. Curious to why you’re bailing after only one year in your startup and after one year of banking as well. If you didn’t like banking hours working at a crossover won’t be much better….
