Stay in IB / DCM or move to Venture / Growth?
Hi all - I’m a senior analyst / junior associate in DCM and have the opportunity to move into late stage venture (not an amazing, but emerging fund). I wanted to jump on this opportunity as I find tech super interesting and would love to be an investor, but with what is happening in SaaS / broader Tech, I’m somewhat concerned. That said, the only real things keeping me in DCM are job security and comp progression (though the later stage VC offer has comparable comp to my current role).
Would appreciate any thoughts from folks that have made a similar move or thought of doing so. I contemplated moving to industry / coverage fornother buyside exists, but I feel like time is running out on that and wlb would be even worse.
