for WM, is target school that important?

So I understand if you want to go to "high finance" like IB you need a target school, but as someone who wants a more normal work-life balance + good at sales I've opted to take the wealth management path (I mean i'm still open to the other stuff, still researching careers). But basically, if I definetly dont want to go into wallstreet careers like IB, PE, etc. do I still need to get into a target college? Sorry i'm kind of clueless but thank you!
