First off - I just wanted to thank WSO because without you guys I would probably still be totally clueless.
I'm a second semester senior with a lib. arts econ degree from a school with a target b-school that I've taken several finance/accounting classes in. My academics are very strong, but I realized a little late in the game I wanted to work in finance. Had no relevant experience but managed to land a spring wealth management internship at a branch of a BB (in NYC, if that makes any difference). I could continue on there, though it doesn't sound ideal and my ultimate short-term goal is equity research.
I'm applying for jobs and while I think my updated resume will get me more bites, things are, obviously, slowing down on the career site. Does anyone have any advice in terms of what my best options are? Should I try to network into ER at my current firm? If I can't get an ER job right away, what might be a good "stepping stone" option?
