Looking for housing in the city

Hey guys, i just received an offer and i'm looking for a place to stay in NYC (or commutable to downtown) for the summer. As long as it has a private BR, desk, closet then I'm all set to go. I would be willing to pay around 2500-3000 for the entire summer incl. utilities.

I've tried craiglist but don't get many responses since I'm not in NY now and can't see the place. NYU is filled ahd EHS is way too expensive. Hope anyone from WSO could point me to the right direction! Thanks.

You can call EHS and negotiate with them at this point because they are trying to fill last minute spots. Worst case scenario you apply and ask for a triple (cheaper) and hope they can't fill the other two spots this summer. I know someone two summers ago who had a triple to herself for almost a month.

Sublet for the summer is probably your best bet. Although check out BK and/or Hoboken as they tend to be in line with what you are expecting to pay.
