M&A/Advisory to Sales/PWM..

Hello,

I've currently just finished my 1st-year at a semi-target University (UK) and have secured a two-month internship with a mid-market multinational firm in Mumbai. I'm interning for two months, however it's on a voluntary basis (for the international exposure).

I wasn't expecting to be put in M&A/Advisory as I have extensive experience within S&T Ops and then a few small stints in Accountancy, Commercial Banking, and PWM.

My career interests lie within Sales/PWM, and that is what I was hoping to apply for with regards to 2014 Summer Internships.

My dilemma is how to spin this M&A internship around at interviews for Sales and PWM internships for next summer?

Also, I don't have extensive knowledge on M&A/Advisory compared to Sales/PWM, if anybody had a useful guide!?

Much advice is appreciated!

CarpeDiem.

Think about this statement real quick. You want to go into a sales/wealth management function yet do not know how to sell your experience? If you can figure out how to spin and sell it then you'll be ready.
