Wealth Management & Family Office Background

Hey Folks - new here. Looking for some advice, hoping this is the right place. Went to CU-Boulder '07 Alum started working for BAC and what became ML in Wealth Management in NYC. Stayed there thru 2011 after deciding it wasnt for me. Moved to a family office in Florida trading some equities on technicals and handling the equity syndicate book. Got laid off in July and have had a really tough time finding any interest back up north. Willing to take a step back to get into a more analytical role preferably at a buy side firm. What can I do to look like less of a risk for potential openings or am I SOL??
