Why am I "not eligible" for GS PWM 2026 SA?
Applied for Goldman Sachs PWM 2026 Summer Analyst (Seattle) and regular WM and got an email for both my apps saying I'm "not eligible".
Anyone know common reasons? (GPA, year in school, technical issue?)
I thought I met the basic requirements.
For reference, I am a 2nd year currently.
Thanks for any insight.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, there are a few common reasons why you might be deemed "not eligible" for the Goldman Sachs PWM 2026 Summer Analyst role:
Year in School: While you mentioned being a 2nd-year student, some programs may have specific eligibility requirements tied to your academic standing. For example, certain summer analyst roles are typically targeted at students in their penultimate year of study (e.g., juniors in a 4-year program). If you're not in the expected academic year, this could be a factor.
GPA Requirements: Many top firms, including Goldman Sachs, have minimum GPA thresholds for their programs. If your GPA falls below their cutoff, it could result in ineligibility.
Technical Issues or Application Errors: Sometimes, errors in the application process, such as incomplete submissions, incorrect information, or technical glitches, can lead to an automatic rejection. Double-check that all your details were accurate and complete.
Program-Specific Criteria: Certain locations or roles may have additional criteria, such as specific coursework, prior experience, or even regional preferences. If your profile doesn't align with these, it could impact your eligibility.
Rolling Basis or Competitive Pool: If the program operates on a rolling basis, earlier applicants may have filled the available spots, leaving later applications at a disadvantage.
If you're confident you meet the basic requirements, it might be worth reaching out to Goldman Sachs' recruitment team for clarification. They can provide more specific insights into why your application was marked as ineligible.
