Advice for Canadian student at non-target (UBC/Sauder) with an average gpa (sub 3.5). Any advice would be appreciated!!

I have no industry connections, mediocre grades due to transferring programs to commerce pretty late, and I have no relevant internship experience or EC's. Im finding its hard to even get involved on campus since clubs ask for your grades and previous experience which I don't stand out in. I don't even have a preference for an area of finance right now, i'd just like to get an internship in anything( S&T, AM, ER,PE, IB) so i can determine what I like most. It is my understanding getting into investment banking is easier than equity research? I am open to anything though, including asset management. I am based in Vancouver btw. Any advice would be appreciated. Im not going to take no for an answer and wait on my ass for something to happen. I want this, and if anyone can provide me some solutions/ advice i haven't thought of, I would really appreciate it. Thanks
