Advice on Breaking into Investment Banking in Toronto or Calgary

Hello everyone. I'm a new immigrant to Canada seeking advice on entering investment banking either in Toronto or Calgary. I've been trying for 7 months now. I was advised to get an MBA but I simply can't afford that right now especially the top MBA programs. I do have the CFA charter, completed the CSC course and mid-way in the CBV program to leverage on my valuations experience. Having never worked in an investment bank, I understand that recruiters sort of scratch their heads as to whether I should be an associate or analyst but i do have big 4 Deal advisory exposure and frankly I just want to get in, learn some more and grow. Please advise.
