Air Force Veteran?
I am leaving for the air force soon and i now my end goal is to be and investment banker. I will be in the air force for 4 years and I will leave the military with an associates degree in business admin. After i leave the air force i will be 22 years old and i will transfer into a 4 yr university to complete a bachelor's degree in business admin. My question is how can i remain competitive with the other applicants if i will not have as many hours of internships due to being in the military?
You're looking at it the wrong way. Assuming you are going into a decent school to finish your undergrad you will be in good shape. Most employers love military vets and honestly few civilians can tell a Staff Sergeant from a Lt Col. What you should be doing is talking up your experiences. You'll be competing against kids who have previous internships but none of them have real experience. You have worked full-time in the real world for 4 years and you will learn more there than being an office bitch for 2 months a summer. Just focus on your strengths and don't worry about what other people have done. What was your AFSC out of curiosity?
I am not an Air Force Veteran yet but I am leaving for BMT soon I am going in open general but I am hoping I get diagnostic imaging.
Your best bet will be to get into the absolute best 4-year school you can.
Why are you joining the Air Force w/ the goal of investment banking?
I am joining the Air Force because I love my country with a passion and even before I knew what investment banking was I knew I wanted to be in the Air Force. I'll serve my country first and then serve my own personal pursuits and since i'll hopefully be transferring to UT after I leave the Air Force which with the GI Bill my Tuition will be paid for
If you're able to get into UT, then getting an analyst gig in IB will certainly be possible.
