AlixPartners USA vs. Simon-Kucher and other London firms

Hey guys! I'm new to the forum and wanted to get your take on some consulting firms, as well as US vs. UK. I have an offer from AlixPartners in their Dallas office (3rd biggest in the US) out of undergrad from a non-target top 30 uni. My aim was to get into consulting in the US (I'm an international student) but very few firms sponsor. Thankfully, Alix does and they just started a two-year training program to pipeline new hires into the industry.

Since it was hard to find work in the US, I started looking at London and got an offer from Simon-Kucher (3-month internship that may turn into full-time after) and am waiting to hear back from Deloitte S&O, LEK, and Accenture Consulting (how much worse than Acc Strategy?) for interviews. What do you guys think of the firms above in the UK (also vs. Alix)?

Also, does anyone have thoughts on Dallas and what it's like living there as a young professional? Thanks!

Hey Shifty-Impala, congrats on your offers.

I was recently contacted for a phone interview next week with AlixPartners for the exact same analyst program in Dallas. I was wondering if you could inform me what your interview process was like, what some of the questions that were asked were, etc. Thanks a lot, best of luck.

Hey, good to hear. Sure thing - interview process consisted of two parts for me. First, a phone interview with an HR person asking about your experience and interest in the industry. Standard interview behavioral questions and didn't go into too much detail. They might ask some logistical questions as well. After that, they invite you to their 'Recruiting Day' where you'll meet the team and have 4 interviews, along with a call/interview with their psychologist that'll go over the online tests you will take. You'll also take a logic/IQ test. The whole day is about 5-6 hours long and you'll have lunch at their office and meet the other analysts. I have to say that they were very nice and accommodating throughout the process and I enjoyed meeting the team. Good luck to you!

More general question here, but is it at all common for younger consultants to pivot to banking? I know that if it happens it is most likely the other way around - but for younger analysts in the field I am just wondering if it's possible. Thanks guys
