Allen Edmonds for Business Casual

First of all, would either of these be appropriate for business casual at a BB?

Thinking about either:

  1. Allen Edmonds Modena ($295) http://www.endless.com/Allen-Edmonds-Mens-Modena-…

or

  1. Allen Edmonds Walden ($225) http://www.endless.com/Allen-Edmonds-Mens-Walden-…

I'm slightly leaning towards the Walden because they look more "traditional" and are a tad cheaper. On the other hand, the Modenas are "Made in Italy" (if that means anything) and have a different, more modern look. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Not to change the subject, but what do you guys think of Johnston and Murphy? I love both their dress and casual shoes. My personal favorite are their Dawson Cap Toe in black for dress and moc toe in brown ("mahogany") for casual:

I think Allen Edmonds make some of the finest shoes, but I don't particularly like the ones you have chosen. So, my opinion is to go with something else by AE.

Yeah shoe trees for AE arent cheap, but they are made to fit the shoes, which is why you should buy the brand's shoe trees (AE, Cole Haan, etc.)

I'd get the $25 ones, sign up for their mailing list, and wait for their sales. Build a collection over time. If you take good care of them, they'll last a long time.

Try not to wear them on consecutive days so the moisture can get out of the leather.

Allen Edmonds makes some damn good shoes. They are one of only two large American shoe manufacturers left. Everything else is made in Mexico, China, etc... AE's can last you years and years if you take care of them properly. They're an investment so don't feel too bad about shelling out the $$$. I have the Waldens and wear them at least twice a week. I'd buy the Park Avenues (So classic), Graysons (Tassel), and a pair of the Mcclains (Wing Tip) also.

MTJ88What do you guys think about the Presidio?

I really like them, but should I go for a shoe with leather soles? The soles on these are rubber, and I don't really know the difference but people seem to think you should only go with leather.

I actually just got a pair. They're well-received and I really like the sole- it's not cheap rubber and AE definitely put the proper work into the sole construction (they're recraftable too). Very comfortable, looks great, and it's a nice calf leather
