Am I screwed in the background check?
I just received an offer from a BB, they are going to do background check on me.
In the resume I sent to them, I stated my GPA 3.88 while after this semester my GPA is 3.86. The discrepancy is due to some course classification stuff as I have two degrees and I haven't finalized which course belong to which degree when I apply.
I submitted my updated GPA when they ask for an updated resume after I got the offer.
Just wondering will this discrepancy lead to the rescind of my offer during the background check? And I will definitely state 3.86 in my background check online form...
Yes, you are screwed.
Yep. Pack your shit. Head to Mexico.
My MD actually had somebody try to pull what you did on him... He called the guy up acting as if he was going to offer him a job, sat him down, then reamed him for 2 hours. Eventually, he took a picture of him and sent it to everybody he knew that had anything to do with finance to blacklist the guy.
2 years later... boom, AIDS.
full disclosure, I'm still in college and have never seen an investment banker let alone an md
and just in case this isn't a troll: I couldn't see you getting f'ed over because of that
no bud you should be fine
Honestly that might actually be a criminal offense depending on what state your in. If I was you I would delete this post and flee the country asap.
I'm also in the same situation. Is rounding ur gpa bad? For example: if ur gpa is 3.67 and you round it to 3.7. Is this ok? I mean, it's basically just a simple math and my target is a career in corp fin.
Better to round down to be safe so a 3.67 would be a 3.6.
That would probably be fine, but just to be on the safe side I would round it to a 3.5.. anything besides 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 raises suspicion imho
Fuck so sorry to hear that. I believe that most states would consider that three minor offenses, one for each bps you changed you GPA and one for the overall act itself - that's life with no chance of parole. My advice, join a gang, depending on your race, politcs etc. Your career centre on campus should be able to help you with your gang application, networking opportunities, tatoos etc
get ready to bend over and touch your toes
i dont think it's a big problem. dont worry too much.
Is it paranoia?......Just wondering how strict is the background check because the offer is really important for me ..
Pretty sure it's paranoia... I mean, I haven't been involved in any of these processes, but it's a .02 difference after a semester, I'm sure they were expecting a change between semesters... you're sending in your updated gpa anyways... I really doubt that the deciding factor in your offer was that you had > 3.86
Everyone is giving you a hard time. It's completely fine to round a 3.77 -> 3.8. This is common knowledge on the street. It may be iffy if you make a 3.55 - > 3.6, but you probably are fine doing it anyway.
