Analysts/associates aren't bankers
We don't bring in deals.
We don't "bank" anything.
We DO format powerpoints, write memos, and shit out spreadsheets.
It is what it is.

What's with the concerted effort to be self-deprecating on this site? Be thankful you have such a coveted entry level job, geez.
What's the point of this?
I just took a shit, what do I do?
Apologize for the seemingly nonsensical post. Getting killed these last few days.
I wanted to offer some perspective--I've met too many kids who already act like they're rockstar MD's. It starts to rub off. I've definitely noticed myself changing/become more of a tool. Just stay grounded, folks.
I feel you. I've put in about 80 hrs in just the past 5 days. Loving it but it's definitely not easy. And being around tools 24/7 doesn't help either. Just don't get cocky. Not yet at least. haha
Well technically junior analysts are a sort of back office, possibility-auditing support for "real" bankers... If you want to nitpick at work roles.
So people that audit at a Big 4 are not accountants either unless they bring in deals......right?
MD = salesman Vice President = process manager Associate = Proofreader Analyst = Formatting & Data Entry Clerk
nice
Wat RicochetX said..
It Makes Sense...
Intern = Fluffer.
Wow. This sums it up perfectly. IB in a nutshell.
yo bitch..my formatting brings in the revenues
intern = motor boater
Flip side: after I first started working as a BB analyst and told them it was a 2 year job, my parents only ever described it as / asked about my "finance trainee program" and once suggested I try to switch to a "management trainee program" at a Fortune 500 program... because it would give me better options.
your parents must be loaded if they described 120k after undergrad as a trainee program.
trading analysts = back office, then become addicted gamblers sales analysts = social cum guzzling whores
