Annual pay raise question
hey guys,
I was wondering what the "average" annual pay raise for an asset manager (~500B).
when you go into your annual review, do you ask for a certain percentage raise? or is it pretty much set an x% to keep you happy for one more year??
also does the increase in pay kick in on January 1st or starting with your bonus date in feburary???
also this is considering decent performance review / nothing out of the ordinary
thanks
Usually 10%
What level are you? If you're a first year research associate out of UG expect 10-20k base raise every 1-2 yrs and your bonus will be a % of base depending on performance probably 20-40% of base. The higher you go the less standard it is though - asset management isn't like banking, you can be directly tied to results (i.e. how good your calls were) so if you made shitty calls expect no raise shitty bonus / maybe getting fired at higher levels and if you made fantastic calls the sky is the limit.
