Any ENTJs on this site?
Just curious if there are other ENTJs on this site. The most likely careers for us are 1) judge 2) finance/auditing 3) CEO 4) Entrepreneur 5) politician. Bill Gates is also ENTJ. Anyone else feel like they just want to quit their job and start a business or NGO.... Go against the grain and do things way differently than most people?
ENTJ here...I feel this and switch between wanting to be in a highly analytical role at an established firm but then also wanting to just do something completely and totally different from everyone else. its been interesting.
Haha OMG same!!! Sometimes I'm like - am I just being temporarily bipolar or indecisive? My friends prob think I am crazy when I bring it up, but I think for us ENTJs quitting a job and doing something completely different is so rational.
Don’t say this - it doesn’t make sense and shows your lack of knowledge.
Maybe
You have the Ivy school which is a good start but generally people will work for a few years in a front office role like IB/Consulting and then do an MBA to learn business fundamentals and develop a professional network. The fundamentals obviously will come in handy from a pure logistical standpoint and the network will be incredibly helpful when you’re looking to do a seed raise with your startup and need introductions to VC/PE firms.
Obviously this path is not necessary to be successful but if you do something different you want to think long and hard how you are going to design your business and how are you going to get access to enough capital to put your idea into action.
I think I'm an ENTJ and I went from PE to entrepreneurship, now I don't exactly remember if I'm really an ENTJ or not but I'm definitely happier despite less $ for now
INTP master race god like species checking in
ENTJ here. No desire to quit job to start a business or NGO - that risk/reward is not for me. Would be happy to work for the right mid to late-stage high potential startup for some sweet equity, but would have to really have faith in its mission/the founders.
I've heard ENTJ's can be quite commanding haha and I've certainly heard my fair bit of that. On the plus side, everyone knows I get **** done. On the minus side, sometimes I feel like I'm not considerate enough of other's feelings.
Yea Im deff commanding. I hate following other people's rules. I will advocate for ethics and know every ethical framework in existence, but most likely don't follow it myself. My brother says I'm rude and aggressive. Some people call me bold. People that barely know me think I'm just a sweet and naive girl until they rlly meet me.
oh rlly
Kinda cringe ngl
So basically you’re bragging about lying and cheating?
.
ENTJ. I think it's cringe how people make identities out of this when its equivalent to a professional horoscope. I'm a back office loser but I think the ENTJ qualities are true to an extent. In my part time teller job during university I drove my boss insane because I never complied to them and shrugged them off while also performing well enough to keep my job. ENTJ's on top are successful but a lot of us are miserable to deal with on a daily basis.
I consider myself an ambivert, so maybe "ANTJ." I can definitely relate to the feelings you're talking about. At one point, I actually wanted to be a Federal judge, but I jumped back on the finance wagon in late high school. I'm extremely happy with my current role, but I think I always need to be moving around doing something else (including various entrepreneurial endeavors). Maybe it's just youthful ennui that'll subside at some point, but I feel like I'll need to make substantial pivots every ~3 years or so to stay engaged (starting a new business, going to a new industry). I think the phrase "serial entrepreneur" is cringey, but something like that or a PE investor/Portco CEO hybrid role with frequent moves would put me where I think I'm strongest.
Sorry to be this guy, but what does ENTJ stand for?
myers briggs test look it up
