Any Interest in Machine Learning Content?
Hi All,
I am practically finished with my 3rd analyst year in a top debt shop and am taking time off to work on some personal projects. In an attempt to stand out during my tour of duty, I got into python / data science / machine learning and patented two algorithms, one of which is my firm's first client-facing machine learning algorithm and has been used to advise 15+ Fortune 500 companies since completion in January of this year. Machine learning was a huge differentiator for me, landing me in the top bonus bracket and winning me an enterprise-wide innovation award.
To leverage these accomplishments, I'm developing some educational content which will eventually become a paid course. I'm looking for ~10 beta students (preferably college / intern / analyst level) to work with me to develop that initial content. No charge to participate, but I am asking for a time commitment to seriously go through the content and provide candid feedback.
Would anyone here be interested? Happy to answer any questions.
I'll be happy to participate!
Great! I’ll shoot you a message. As an update for anyone else who is interested, I still have seven spots remaining.
waiting for it! cheers
Interested as well, about to start working on a trading desk and my boss has a masters in ML.
Would be interested if spots are open
I would like to join!
Definitely seems up my alley. Interested.
Am interested if spots are still open!
Interested in participating trying to learn python this summer also
Interested as well! Worked for
Are there any minimum requirements in regards to knowledge? I am very interested in computer science and am actually considering doing some courses in it. However, I have no background in computer science. My background is economics > masters in finance > leveraged finance > PE
also curious about this.
Extremely interested in this opportunity as well. What are you looking for in terms of qualifications/requirements?
The course will include Python fundamentals for anyone that isn’t familiar. It’s a relatively intuitive coding language - much easier to learn than a lot of alternatives.
The good news is that it isn’t necessary have a computer science PhD to create useful ML solutions. There are some fantastic open source packages that provide most of the machinery to analyze your data. At the most basic end, you really only need to know enough Python to connect these open source packages to your data.
Out of my two patented algorithms, the first was fully custom and the second leaned heavily on open source packages. Both perform very well, and the second was much quicker and easier than the first.
Very interested, I have been studying python independently for a while and would definitely like to learn how to apply this knowledge towards machine learning.
.
I'd be very interested. I have a heavy math background and some python knowledge if that is prerequisite. Also would be interested to hear about your time on the debt side of things.
