Anyone know a macro firm looking for a summer intern?

Howdy all,

Title says everything. Macro is what gets my juices flowing, and I've been hunting high and low for an internship at a macro fund. I have had some promising leads but it appears most are becoming dead ends. Anyone know of any firms to cold call? I'm in the NYC area; will travel anywhere in the world for the right opportunity.

PM me a solid lead and I'll try to buy you a drink one day. Or give you a silver banana.

Any help is appreciated.

CEP, I'm an incoming analyst at a small-to-mid-cap Global Macro HF in London. Check my first two posts. I start this coming June. Could I take a look at your at your trade ideas as you suggested? Let's stay in touch. I realize you're based in CT, but I go there often, so let's stay in touch and exchange ideas etc (if you like).

For someone based in London as well as having experience at a Spanish bank, logic tells me you are European. How often do you go to CT then?

Is this more a case of lets exchange ideas or tell me your ideas and maybe i'll pass them off to my manager?

I am half European, half Latin-American. In any case, I wasn't trying to be a stabber. Maybe with time you will see this (hopefully). I'm a new monkey on here, so I doubly understand.

PS: I travel a lot (a LOT) why wouldn't I go to the US often? I don't understand. I used to live in the New England area myself (MA).

No, no. I'm not saying you have ulterior motives. Just being new and asking to trade ideas comes across as very sketchy. Hope it works out for you.

You're absolutely right Rumples. I'm new here. I'll contribute more and get people to know me a bit better before anything. One thing at a time.

Thanks for the condescending "Hope it works out for you" comment ;)

Condescending? May be your interpretation of that sentence AND definition of condescending are equally pointing in the wrong direction.

Location: Dallas

Small, start-up global macro hedge fund based in Dallas is looking for a summer intern with a knowledge of macroeconomics and foreign exchange markets. We need an intern who knows how to use Bloomberg, specifically how to use Bloomberg formulas with Microsoft Excel. The summer intern will be tasked with maintaining various country economic databases and keeping the portfolio manager up-to-date on economic changes. The intern will also help keep track of various asset markets.Although the fund is in Dallas, the intern can work remotely with a Bloomberg connection. This is an unpaid summer internship for someone who wants to work hard and get their foot in the door on the buyside. The fund trades currencies, commodities, international stocks and international bonds.
