Anyone Transition From Finance To Marketing?

Yeah yeah, I get that the absolute comp ceiling is lower. That's the case for anything outside of startup founder or CEO.

I realized that there are heavy diminishing returns with money ='ing happiness for me. I think Product Marketing is really appealing, and I would be totally fine being 45 making $450k working 40 hour weeks doing stuff I found interesting.

Also I feel like the odds of someone with an IB/PE work ethic making CMO are way higher than someone coming from IB/PE getting into a CFO slot since the average person in marketing is less likely to be willing to do whatever it takes.

I understand that this path is less common, but is an MBA required? Know anybody that has undergone this?
