Compensation sits somewhere between commercial banking and corporate banking at the junior level.
Analysts are around 90k all in while associates are around 115-130 all in.
BB (Top 5) AS2.
base:126k
Bonus: 30k
Hours: 60-70
Nyc
.
What are typical transaction sizes your group sees?
Depends. It can be a deal as small as $25 million or as much as $3 billion. Hold sizes will range from $25 million to as much $450 million. Really just depends on the deal and the bank’s role in the deal (Agent, JLA/JBR or participant)
Scandinavian Bank?
Nope.
wow. the comp, lifestyle, and hours seem unreal. would love to connect and get more insight if you're willing.
do you have any idea which firms pay the highest for abl?
Capital One????
.
I don't know how people get these type of payout.
Currently at top 3 ABL lender (BB)
Analyst 2
Base: $75k
Bonus: 15% (same for on analyst / associate)
Hours: 40hours (precovid) 55-60hours (over the past 6 months)
40 hours precovid and you're an analyst.
Guys above you were associates working much greater hours, so likely different ABL strategies?
.
Underpay is a understatement at my BB. All analyst and associate work on the same thing, there's literally no difference between analyst and associate. Let me put it this way, I work at one of the firm JPM/WF/BOA. The deal exposure is great, a lot of financial sponsor deals, worked on a bunch of deals that you will see on the news.
.
I would qualify this by saying make sure you know your shit. I heard of a mid tear bank looking for a Associate and all in comp was >200k . They interviewed people from wf/boa, ect and none fully knew their 3 statement modeling. As an Associate, if you're running accounts you should know how to model.
Can you DM me? I'm at a BB for ABL too and love to connect for advice
