Associate lateral hire - financial modeling test
Hi guys - for a 1st year associate-level (M&A team) lateral hire modelling test, does anyone know what kind of modeling would be given (3-statement forecast/ DCF valuation, Merger, LBO)? Thanks!

That's a first, don't recall ever hearing associates having to go through a modeling test? You going to a BB/EB? Or some MM firm?
Interested to know as well. Specifically, lateral Associate case study. Have one coming up.
Thanks. MV
I've heard of some EBs giving either 3 statement + DCF + LBO or accretion/dilution, but not both. I think even the best analysts would have a hard time doing both within 4 hours (unless a good portion has been pre-populated), and I can't imagine most firms taking up more than 4 hours on an in person case study.
Yes, that was my thinking as well when they told me about the modelling test. I suppose it's just their way of double-checking you technical side.
Mine is a boutique firm M&A.
Would anyone have some good modelling test samples that a M&A team would give out? Thanks!
Did you receive any tests from people? I ran out of PM's but willing to venmo
I've done 2 of these. Basically 3 statement modelling given historical and assumptions. Followed by dcf , and accretion /dilution. Neither of mine had LBO component
any chance you'd be willing to share with me? thank you in advance!
Would you be able to share with me through PM as well? Really appreciate it!
Were you able to get your hands on any modeling tests? Thanks
Any chance you would be kindly open to let me know about how your experiences with these modelling tests were?
Any advice on how to prep for these? Did you use guides or just pick a public company and go about it?
