Bain vs BCG

Junior at a semi-target. MBB was always the goal, and I never thought about the possibility of receiving more than one offer. I received offers from Bain (ACI) and BCG (SA) for the same office and would like to see thoughts and perspectives from people at both firms. Also happy to share my experience interviewing and answer questions.

Congrats! Do you mind sharing a bit more about the BCG final round? Was the case a standard case (market entry, profitability) or another case type? How much did the Partner intervene? Was it more interviewer-led or candidate-led?

Congrats! What office are you in? I'd consider it through a few different lenses:

Culture - I've generally heard people much prefer working at Bain, but did you feel you connected particularly well with any of your interviewers/people you chatted with at each firm?

Office - Bain operates under a home staffing model and has a pretty regional approach, whereas BCG isn't quite as local, so if you're in Houston or SF and are less enthusiastic about O&G or Tech then BCG might make more sense.

Future Opportunities - From what I've read, Bain places more people into PE - if that's something you're interested in pursuing in the future. Of course, I'm sure there are plenty of BCG consultants who do really well too.

The only thing I’d add to this is that BCG has the best benefits and policies of any of the firms - $5 copay on healthcare, 90 min flight first class, etc

I had the exact same situation last year. Location was the same for me, so I chose based on the culture that I felt I fit more with and the possibility of PE in the future.

If you want to make partner, BCG because of relatively more spots for promotion per undergrad hire.

Hey I’m a freshman and I also go to a semi target. What do you think you did prior to junior year that helped with landing interviews? Any overall advice?
