Baird v. HLHZ v. William Blair v. CS v. DB v. Lazard v. HW - SA

Hey fellow monkeys,

I have offers for a SA position with a few of the firms listed above, and have superdays/am in the process of interviewing with the others. They're all Chicago except for HW in Minneapolis, I know rankings are biased but was looking for somewhat of an idea as to which shops place the best into PE & b-school. Thanks!

Why Blair over CS/DB? Surprised to see that

And if you want to take the name brand argument, I would say the Blairs brand is on par or stronger than the international banks.

Lol what?

Sorry, meant to specify in Chicago. And yes, in Chicago it really is a very strong brand name. In new York, the CS/DB/UBS names wipe the floor with Blair though.

I haven't been through PE recruiting yet, however, so I may reevaluate after.

Another question - I'd prefer to stay in Chicago, but will I be putting myself at a significant disadvantage when it comes time for PE recruiting by not doing an analyst program in NYC?

"HFs will be much tougher to place into from Chicago"

Except for all of the Chicago HF's, of which there are many (though it is also true that it's not even comparable to how many there are in the greater NYC area).

OP, do you know which Lazard group it is (RX or M&A)? Regardless, I'd take Lazard, but RX in Chicago is top.

At this point I'm somewhat indifferent across the board when it comes to the people, in general I've gotten along well with most I've talked to.... Just looking for the best experience possible as a summer and FT analyst
